CIRCULATION
& READERSHIP
Footwear News is the only special interest
business publication that focuses on the footwear and allied industries
throughout Australia and New Zealand. Published every month the
magazine aims at a high standard of editorial and advertising content
and contemporary graphic design
The circulation is targeted at proprietors, managers,
executives and staff within these industries including retailing, manufacturing,
importing, agencies, leather, machinery, components, repairing, shoe care,
bags, accessories and apparel. It also extends to persons and businesses
with connections outside the industry.
Footwear News is distributed by mail and is predominantly
subscription based. The current cost of a one year subscription
in advance is $66 Australian currency and includes GST within Australia.
Overseas rate is $A80 for the Asia-Pacific region and $A98 for Rest of
World as defined by Australia Post. All members of the National
Footwear Retailers Association in Australia receive a copy of the magazine
at a bulk discount rate as part of the NFRA membership package.
To provide the best possible circulation base for
advertisers and to promote the magazine to prospective subscribers the
number of copies distributed is "topped up" on a rotational
random basiis throughout the year.
Readership is as important as numbers in specialist
interest publications and surveys in recent years have indicated that
each copy of a good quality magazine would have an average readership
in excess of 3.5 key people.
About 34 per cent of total circulation is within
Victoria with a slightly smaller figure in New South Wales.
Queensland has the next biggest base with smaller but significant numbers
in the less populated states.
Copies of Footwear News are liberally spread across
New Zealand through retail and supply outlets. The magazine also
finds its way to more than a dozen other countries around the world.
